TORNADO

My favourite sky is a stormy sky. Looking at them makes me feel calm because it reminds me how small and fragile we are.

I took my inspiration for this painting from my Mumʼs artworks. I grew up surrounded by her huge landscapes: vast, peaceful skies; fog on the sea; a glowing mountain range at sunset. One day I asked her “Mum, could you paint a
tornado for me?” “Are you crazy?”, she replied, she clearly didnʼt share my view that storms were calm and tranquil “Do it yourself if you are mad enough” and so I did.

Oil on board.

In vintage wooden frame.
