Creative retreats
We are excited to welcome you to our creative retreats. We curate exciting and immersive courses in drawing, painting and many other creative activities, with the cooperation of international artists, professors and experts. The courses take place within the serene and expansive local countryside, here in Folhada, Portugal.
Into the wild
Into The Wild is an artistic residence which focuses on drawing and painting techniques including experimenting with Camera Lucida.
Courses include:

accommodation at Castanhal on the Serra da Aboboreira (Pumpkin Mountain) near the historic city of Amarante,

all food and local Vinho Verde wine, including some meals in a few wonderful, local restaurants,

expert tuition,
-
transport to and from the local train station at Marco de Canaveses (frequent trains to/from Porto).
The Retreat culminates with a group exhibition.
Places are very limited for this all-inclusive, immersive course.
The "Into the wild" Crew
Born in 1958 in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 1959 moved to Poland. Studied Fine Arts at the Gdansk Art Academy (1986). She has exhibited regularly and her works are held by private collectors from Germany, France, Holland, England, Japan, Austria, Sweden, Poland, Russia, UK and USA. Currently lives in Portugal.
Born in 1962 in Porto, Portugal. Studied Painting at the Superior School of Fine Arts in Porto (1988), Master in Painting at the University of Massachusetts, USA (1990), PhD in Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto (2010) Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona (2019). Exhibits since 1985 and is represented in public and private collections in Portugal and abroad.
Born in Gdansk, Poland in 1983. Studied Fine Arts at the Gdansk Art Academy. Member and founder of Zero Division art collective and Gallery in Porto (2017). Lived and worked as an artist and designer in London and Oxford. Currently lives in Portugal.
Born in 1980 in London, England. BSc Computing & Information Systems - Goldsmith's College, London, UK, is currently a Consultant and Freelance Engineer in Broadcasting, having specialised in Live Streaming. Currently lives in Portugal.
The resident Artists, Zuzanna Hope and Krystyna Suchwallo together with the Professor of Fine Arts University of Porto, Pedro Maia and project logistic coordinator, Peter Hope have the pleasure of inviting you to join us for a unique and memorable creative retreat. The courses will be based in and around our working farm, Castanhal, as well as several breathtaking locations hidden away in the beautiful countryside of Folhada, Portugal.
